PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
ANIMAL PROBLEM: There was a report of two dogs in a construction zone at the Wastewater Treatment Plant on June 8 at 7:40 a.m. The animal shelter responded and picked up the dogs.
TRESPASSING: A male subject was at a residence on the 400 block of Adams Street causing problems on June 8 at approximately 8:45 p.m. The male left the area prior to officer arrival, and the caller wanted the male trespassed from her residence. Contact was made with the male, and he was warned for trespassing.
SUSPICIOUS: A caller found a male subject lying in the driveway of a residence on the 900 block of New Haven Road, who was yelling and screaming, on June 9 at 2:30 a.m. The male subject left on foot prior to officer arrival and was not located.
BURGLARY: Police responded to a call referencing a breaking and entering that had taken place in a garage on the 300 block of West North Street sometime between 8 p.m. on June 8 and 4:10 p.m. on June 9. Two items were reported possibly stolen, and no known suspects were stated.
OVI: A male subject was at Buckeye Chucks Marathon gas station reportedly causing problems and who reportedly caused injury to the caller on June 9 at approximately 6:15 p.m. The caller left the business and went home to report the incident. Prior to officer’s arrival, the male was spotted driving recklessly near the caller’s residence. The vehicle circled the area before crashing. The driver fled on foot and was found in the area. The driver was arrested and charged. Aaron J. Covault, 24, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI-under the influence and first-degree misdemeanor hit/skip crash in a public roadway in connection with this incident.
THEFT: Towels were reported stolen at the Red Roof Inn on June 9 at 7:10 p.m.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police responded to a call referencing two male subjects fighting in the street in the area of North Roosevelt Avenue and West Water Street on June 9 at 7:15 p.m. The males were located and warned of disorderly conduct.
ASSAULT: A complainant advised his neighbor punched him in the face on the 800 block of West Water Street on June 10 at 3:15 p.m. The neighbor was charged with assault and incarcerated. Bryan Richardson, 50, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident.
DRUG OFFENSE: There was a report of two individuals using drugs in a alley behind a residence on South Main Street on June 10 at approximately 8:45 p.m. One of the suspects was located several blocks away. This suspect had paraphernalia, and he was charged. Chip A. Mills, 25, of Houston, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident.
