PIQUA — Two males were allegedly found sleeping in a car with a stolen gun over the weekend.
According to Piqua police reports, an officer responded to a suspicious call about two males who seemed passed out in a car near the Piqua Village Apartments on the 1300 block of Covington Avenue on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, a gun was seen sitting in plain view in between the two males. The gun was secured without incident. It was then discovered that the gun had been reported stolen after a home burglary in Miami County.
Kody A. Francis, 21, of Dayton and Jeffery D. Bristow, 21, of Troy, were both charged with fourth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property in connection with this incident.
Francis is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $10,000 bond.
In 2013, Francis was found guilty of first-degree aggravated robbery in connection with a robbery at a Valero gas station in Troy in 2012.
