PIQUA — The Dayton Mountain Dulcimer Group will be featured during the YWCA annual meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11. The program is free and open to the public. A noon luncheon ($6 per person) will follow.
“We are excited to have the Dayton Mountain Dulcimer Group with us for our annual meeting program,” YWCA Program Director Beth Royer-DeLong said. “The group plays the traditional music of the mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, guitar and other acoustic instruments. We will be treated to some wonderful music on instruments that we don’t often hear.”
Following the luncheon, Donna DeBrosse, YWCA board of directors president, will conduct the 99th annual meeting to recognize newly elected and retiring board members, honor the Top Ten YWCA adult volunteers and the Top Youth Volunteer as well as outline programs and activities throughout 2017.
“This is a very special day for the YWCA and we look forward to recognizing individuals who have contributed many things in 2017,” said Leesa Baker, YWCA executive director. “We celebrate many special individuals who help make our YWCA such a vibrant organization.”
Reservations for the program and luncheon are requested by Monday, April 9. A UVMC nurse will also be available from 10:15-11 a.m. for free blood pressure and glucose screenings. The YWCA is handicapped-accessible.
