PIQUA — Six students from Lehman Catholic High School and Piqua High School competed in the annual Piqua Rotary Club Four-Way Speech Contest on March 6 during the club’s regular noon meeting. Dr. Nancy Luce of Upper Valley Career Center coordinated the event.

Three winners were selected based on the Rotary Clubs’s Four-Way test, which encourages Rotarians and others to make professional and personal decisions while considering “Is it the truth?” “Is it fair to all concerned?” “Will it build goodwill and better friendships?” and “Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

Winners, all of whom won cash prizes and are students at Piqua High School, included Molly Smith, first place; Cameron Brown, second place, and Gabbie Knouff, third place.

Smith, daughter of Merlin and Melissa Smith, will represent the Piqua Rotary Club at the district competition on April 8, at Wright State University.

Other participants included Kiera Burns and Alanna O’Leary, both Lehman students, and Emily Powell, Piqua High School.
