PIQUA — It was a day of milestones for Piqua donor Nancy Brogden, a Community Blood Center “Donor for Life” who prefers to lead by example. She not only organized the Nov. 4 blood drive at Greene Street United Methodist Church in Piqua, she helped the cause by making her 100th lifetime blood donation.
“It was the first drive at this location and her first time as a chairperson,” said CBC’s Dana Puterbaugh. “Plus she donated her 100th donation!”
Brogden had plenty of reason to feel proud. The Saturday morning blood drive at Greene Street United Methodist was a success, reaching 100 percent of the collection goal with 27 donors and 24 donations.
Brogden’s milestone donation was her fifth donation of the year, surpassing the four donations she made in 2016. She’s a regular donor at the Piqua Harley-Davidson blood drives and also donates at Piqua Baptist Church and the Piqua Knights of St. John.
