PIQUA — Piqua police made an arrest this morning in connection with a barn fire that occurred Tuesday afternoon at 308 Third St. in Shawnee.
Adam Sargent, 29, who lives in the vicinity of the fire, according to Deputy Police Chief Marty Grove of the Piqua Police Department, faces one charge of arson, a fourth-degree felony.
Grove said Piqua police were provided with a video from a neighbor’s surveillance camera and that, combined with with tips from others in the neighborhood, led police to Sargent.
A search warrant was obtained for Sargent’s vehicle and following the police’s investigation, charges were filed.
Sargent is currently being held at the Miami County Jail.
