MIAMI COUNTY — At their meeting Tuesday, the Miami County Commissioners approved several contracts and purchases.
The commissioners signed an agreement for an alcohol monitoring system on behalf of the Municipal Court with Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc., in the amount of $91,980.
The agreement includes the use of 50 monitoring units, wireless fees, five monitoring bracelets, and 10 wireless device kits.
On behalf of the Department of Job and Family services, the commissioners approved maintenance several contracts. The first was with Teel Concrete for the repair of sidewalks at their facility. The contract includes the sealing of all cracks and the replacement of sidewalk sections that are too damaged to repair. The contract is not to exceed $3,200.
Another contract with Mechanical System of Dayton is for the maintenance and care for HVAC equipment at the Department of Job and Family Services. This contract, which will end Sept. 30, is not to exceed $2,228.
The commissioners also authorized JFS to enter into a contract for janitorial services with Clean All at a cost not to exceed $9,726.
The commissioners awarded a contract for the construction of a handicapped walkway in Tipp City’s Kyle Park to Miami & Erie Contractors in the amount of $93,700.
On behalf of the Maintenance Department, the commissioners approved the purchase of a new John Deere heated cab compact utility tractor at a cost of $24,905. The current tractor, which is not suitable for snow removal and is not heated, will be traded in.
The commissioners also accepted a $292,394 Community Corrections grant from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
