PIQUA — A Middletown woman was reportedly found doing drugs in the Walmart restroom while a female juvenile was with her.
This week, Walmart reported two female subjects using drugs in their restroom, according to Piqua police reports. The subjects were located and arrested.
Cierra R. Wells, 20, of Middletown, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession, second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business, and second-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident. According to the Piqua Police Department, Wells admitted to taking heroin.
A female juvenile offender, 17, was also charged with second-degree misdemeanor obstruction official business in connection with this incident.
Wells was incarcerated, and the juvenile was released to her mother.
Wells was arraigned on those charges on Monday in Miami County Municipal Court. She is continuing to be held in the Miami County Jail on $7,000 bond. A preliminary hearing for Wells is scheduled for Sept. 20.
In other news:
• Anthony S. Hutton, 53, of Piqua, was charged with second-degree felonious assault over the weekend. According to Piqua police reports, this charge was in connection with an assault complaint in reference to a male subject striking another male subject with a wooden object in the area of Spring Street and East North Street on Sept. 5 at 10:20 a.m.
• A female juvenile offender, 15, was charged with third-degree felony pandering obscenity involving a minor on Monday.
• B. Diana Julian, 61, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on Monday after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart. Julian is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 20 in Miami County Municipal Court.
• Devon A. Montgomery, 18, of Piqua, was picked up on multiple warrants, including four counts of fifth-degree felony forgery, one count of first-degree misdemeanor theft, and one count of first-degree misdemeanor underage consumption of beer.
