PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An officer was flagged down about a reportedly intoxicated subject in an alley on the 500 block of W. North Street on Aug. 26 at 7:54 a.m. The subject was charged with underage consumption and transported to a residence.
THEFT: Gasoline was reported stolen from the Clark Gas Station on N. Sunset Drive on Aug. 26 at 11:43 a.m. The suspect is reportedly a male juvenile offender with a warrant for his arrest.
A weed eater was reportedly stolen from the 500 block of Wilson Street. It went missing sometime better 7 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 2:24 p.m. on Aug. 26.
Items were reported stolen from Walmart on Aug. 26 at 3:24 p.m. Thefts were also reported at Walmart on Aug. 26 at 3:48 p.m. and at 5:15 p.m. Chassidy N. Saunders, 18, of Piqua was charged with minor misdemeanor complicity and Jonathan L. Bartrum, 25, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with the incident at 5:15 p.m.
A television was reported stolen on the 300 block of S. Main Street on Aug. 27 at 1: 53 p.m.
There was a theft reported at the Comfort Inn on the 900 block of E. Ash Street on Aug. 28 at 1:36 a.m.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of an attempted break-in of a vehicle on the 1200 block of Nicklin Avenue. It happened sometime between 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 11:40 a.m. on Aug. 26.
A male in the area of Park Avenue and Caldwell Street reportedly painted the curb yellow in front of his residence on Aug. 26. The male was told he could not do that, according to police reports.
A subject allegedly smashed the back window of a vehicle after flagging the driver down on the 110 block of W. High Street outside of Mulligan’s Pub on Aug. 27 at 10 p.m.
DISTURBANCE: A complainant reported a disturbance after allegedly hearing “a female yelling for a male to stop hitting her,” according to police reports. The male reportedly left before officer arrival. The disturbance took place on the 400 block of Adams Street on Aug. 26 at 4 p.m. Tyler J. Mohr, 24, of Piqua was charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence in connection with this incident.
There was a domestic dispute reported on the 800 block of W. High Street on Aug. 26 at 5:22 p.m. There were no reports or threats of violence.
There was a disturbance reported at the Piqua Village Apartments on Covington Avenue on Aug. 26 at 7:55 p.m. A female was reportedly cited for driving without a license. A vehicle was towed from the scene, according to police reports.
There was a domestic dispute reported on the 100 block of Harvard Street on Aug. 27 at 2:57 p.m. There were also disturbances reported on Aug. 27 on the 300 block of S. Roosevelt Avenue at 5 p.m. and at the Colonial Terrace Apartments on Covington Avenue at 9:21 p.m.
CITIZEN ASSIST: A high school student reported a lost musical instrument on Aug. 26 at 5:44 p.m.
Police assisted a citizen with unlocking a vehicle due to the citizen’s child and car keys being locked in the vehicle on Aug. 27 at 5:17 p.m.
ASSAULT: A male reportedly assaulted a female in the parking lot of the Budgetel Inn and Suites on Scot Drive on Aug. 26 at 8 p.m. Edward C. Dilks, 43, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident. Dilks is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $10,000 bond.
A female reportedly assaulted a Piqua police officer while two officers attempted to drive her home from Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) on Aug. 26 at 8:23 p.m. While in the cruiser, the female reportedly began hitting the plexiglass window separating the front and back seats. The female then “made several attempts to spit” on one of the officers after they reached her residence, according to police reports. After several warnings, she was taken into custody. Logan M. Adams, 20, of Piqua is facing one count of fourth-degree felony assault, one count of first-degree misdemeanor menacing, and four counts of first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident. Adams is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $55,000 bond.
UNRULY JUVENILE: There was a report of juveniles throw apples on a resident’s vehicle on the 700 block of Fisk Street on Aug. 26 at 8:14 p.m. The complainant did not pursue charges but requested that the juveniles be spoken with.
SUSPICIOUS: A neighbor reportedly saw two subjects jumping another neighbor’s fence and “messing around” the garage on the 600 block of Boal Avenue overnight on Aug. 26.
An anonymous caller reported a male with his face painted like a clown walking in the area outside of Hallmark on the 400 block of N. Main Street on Aug. 27 at noon. The subject was not located.
SEX OFFENSE: A female reported “a male forcing his way into her residence” and sexually assaulting her on the 1500 block of Washington Avenue on Aug. 27 at 3:52 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
ASSIST SQUAD: Police responded to an assist squad call with a subject not breathing on the 100 block of Sherman Street on Aug. 27 at 9:30 p.m. The subject was revived and taken to UVMC for a possible drug overdose, according to police reports.
