OVI checkpoint on S.R. 571 tonight

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be held from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. tonight (Friday, Aug. 25) on State Route 571 in Tipp City.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers and is a partnership between the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Tipp City Police Department, and the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, please designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink.
