Jergers wins Rotary poster contest

TROY — Hailey Jergers of Piqua Junior High won the Troy Lions Club Peace Poster Contest.

The contest is sponsored annually by the Troy Lions Club in several area schools. This year’s contest theme was “A Celebration of Peace.” The contest is open to all 11-13 year olds at sponsored schools, and is designed to see their artistic vision of peace in the world.

Jergers and her mother Jennifer were honored guests at a recent Troy Lions Club family picnic meeting. She received a monetary prize and her poster was advanced to the next level of competition at the Lions District Convention. Troy Lion Joe Jackson, acted as Peace Poster Chairman for the local club and said, “It is wonderful to see the talent of our young people. Hailey’s poster was simply beautiful.”
