PIQUA — The Piqua Police Department filed multiple drug trafficking charges against various suspects, two of whom were recently arraigned.

Joseph A. Hamilton, 48, of Laura, was arraigned Wednesday in Miami County Municipal Court on fifth-degree felony trafficking in drugs. According to court records, this charge was in connection with an incident that occurred in September on the 700 block of Young Street, Piqua.

Hamilton spent a couple of days in the Miami County Jail before he was released on his own recognizance Wednesday.

Unrelated to that case, Christina L. Queen, 29, of Pleasant Hill, was arraigned Monday in Miami County Municipal Court on fourth-degree felony trafficking in drugs. According to court records, this charge was in connection with an incident that occurred in August on the 400 block of Wayne Street, Piqua.

Queen is also facing unrelated charges of fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree misdemeanor driving under suspension, and first-degree misdemeanor failure to stop after an accident. She is currently being held at the jail on a total bond of $5,000.

Warrants were also filed this week in connection with alleged cocaine trafficking occurring in the city.

James T. Parson Jr., 49, of Dayton, is accused of selling cocaine in Piqua on at least two separate occasions, including on Wayne Street and Covington Avenue toward the end of last year. Results from the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory confirmed that the white chunky substances in the buys were cocaine.

Parson has been charged with first-degree felony trafficking in drugs and fifth-degree felony trafficking in drugs. Warrants for his arrest have been issued.

Eric M. Dillingham, 61, of Piqua, is also wanted for fifth-degree felony permitting drug abuse.

Unrelated to those incidents, a warrant was also issued for Bruce R. Sargent, 42, of Piqua, for fourth-degree felony trafficking in drugs. According to court records, this charge was in connection with an incident that occurred in December on the 400 block of Wayne Street.
