PIQUA — A local man was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail after being accused of raping a minor multiple times over the course of a year.

Dylan R. Cost, 21, of Piqua, was charged with two counts of first-degree felony rape on Tuesday and arraigned on those charges Wednesday morning in Miami County Municipal Court.

According to the Piqua Police Department, Cost admitted to touching and having sexual contact with a female juvenile under the age of 10. The incidents reportedly took place at a private residence on the 100 block of Mound Street and lasted over the course of a year. It is unknown how many times Cost’s alleged sexual contact with the victim occurred.

The alleged conduct was reported Tuesday to Piqua police after Cost also admitted his actions to a third party during an argument involving the victim.

Cost is currently being held in the jail on a total bond of $502,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 9.

Unrelated to this case, Cost is currently facing other open cases in Miami County Municipal Court. In October, Cost was charged with first-degree misdemeanor falsification. His original bond for that charge was revoked. That case is scheduled to go to trial on Aug. 23.

Cost was also charged with second-degree misdemeanor domestic violence early in July. His original bond for that charge was also revoked. His next pre-trial conference for that case is also scheduled for Aug. 23.
