VBS at St. Paul’s

PIQUA — St. Paul’s Church will offer vacation Bible school from 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 24-26 at the church.

The theme is “Cave Quest,” and is geared toward those 3 years old through sixth grade. An adult class also is available.

Cyrene A.M.E. to hold revival

PIQUA — Cyrene A.M.E. Church, 227 W. Ash St., will hold a three-day revival with the theme, “The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:11)” beginning at 6:30 p.m. nightly on July 19, 20 and 21.

Featured speakers will be: July 19 — Rev. DeBora Duckett, pastor, St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Cedarville; July 20 — Rev. Michael Freeman, pastor, Jerusalem Second Baptist Church, Urbana; and July 21 — Rev. Dr. John E. Freeman, pastor, United A.M.E. Church, Xenia.

Covington church to host salad luncheon

COVINGTON — If you missed the first salad luncheon for 2017 of the Women’s Fellowship of Covington Christian Church, don’t miss the next on Friday, July 21.

Enjoy our large assortment of homemade salads, desserts, finger sandwiches, and desserts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m for a donation of $6. Carry-outs are available upon request. Enjoy great food and fellowship in an air conditioned area. Our famous apple dumplings will be available by reservation.

The church is located at 115 N. Pearl St., Covington, and is handicapped-accessible.

Ice cream social and concert planned

PIQUA — Bethel United Methodist Church, 2505 E. Loy Road, will be holding a free ice cream social at 6 p.m. and concert on July 22 at 7 p.m. The ice cream social will be followed by a Peacefull Heart praise concert.

Peacefull Heart is a collection of original arrangements and compositions with inspirational stories and lyrics. The primary focus of the original compositions is sacred faith based with inspirations from the Holy Bible. The arrangements are improvisations on well known traditional hymns and melodies by other composers.

‘Sunday Funday’ planned

PIQUA — After the Upper Valley Community Church’s VBA, join them on July 23 for the conclusion of the three-week series, “Made For This!” at 9:15 a.m. or 11 a.m. Kids 3 years to fifth grade are invited to worship with their families. The VBA Dance Crew, Gadgeteers, Steampunk Steve, Ian Ventor and friends will be there too!

Then stay for Sunday Funday, a festival for all ages starting at 12:45 p.m., with a live DJ, a food truck from Susie’s Big Dipper, lawn games, inflatables, picnic tables, and more. This is a free event for the church family and community.
