PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A complainant advised that someone threw eggs at his vinyl privacy fence on Garfield Avenue sometime between June 14-16. Complainant advised no damage was done but wanted a report to be made documenting what happened.
POSSESSION: A suspicious stop was conducted on a driver on East Ash Street on June 17 at 4:25 p.m. The male subject was found to be driving on a suspended license and in possession of several syringes. Other items located during the course of the investigation will be sent for testing. Jacob C. Evans, 23, of Arcanum, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident.
ASSAULT: There was a report of a female subject allegedly attacking her caretaker at a residence on Park Avenue on June 17 at 6:15 p.m. No charges were filed.
DISTURBANCE: An officer was dispatched to a domestic complaint at the Red Carpet Inn on June 17 at 6:45 p.m. A male suspect was later apprehended by the West Milton Police Department. Michael H. Smith, 25, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with this incident.
Officers responded on a report of a fight outside Z’s Food and Spirits on June 18 at 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, suspects, who were unable to be identified, had left the scene. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.
There was a report of a disturbance on Young Street on June 18 at around 2:30 p.m. Both parties involved claimed no physical violence or threats of physical violence occurred.
There was a report of a disturbance on South Main Street on June 19 at 12:50 a.m. Both subjects denied any serious physical violence or threats of violence taking place.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: While on patrol, an officer witnessed a male subject acting disorderly with a female subject on South Street on June 17 at 8:35 p.m. Both parties were found to be uncooperative. The male subject was warned for disorderly conduct.
There was a report of a male subject and female subject arguing on Wilson Avenue on June 18 at 5:10 p.m. The male subject was warned for disorderly conduct.
Multiple callers reported a male subject riding a bike in and out of traffic in the area of East Grant and South Main streets on June 18 at 6:15 p.m. A caller stated the subject was running red lights and was almost hit several times. Contact was made. Dylan R. Cost, 21, of Piqua, was cited for minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.
HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: There was a report of a black Nissan backing into a someone else’s vehicle on Manier Avenue and then fleeing the scene on June 17 at around 9:40 p.m.
There was a report of a hit skip crash in the area of South Downing and Garnsey streets on June 18 at 1:50 a.m. The driver was located and arrested for OVI and taken to the police department where he refused the OVI test. He was cited for OVI, hit skip, and failure to control. He was released on an OR bond.
There was a report of a red Pontiac Grand Am striking another vehicle in traffic and then fleeing the scene in the area of South Sunset Drive and South Street on June 18 at 7:50 p.m.
ASSIST SQUAD: A squad requested police assistance regarding a male subject interfering with the medical care of a female patient having a seizure on Walker Street on June 17 at 10:15 p.m.
UNRULY: There was a report of juveniles shooting a BB gun in the area of East Main Street on June 17 at 11:30 p.m. An officer responded and was unable to locate the juveniles.
SUSPICIOUS: Separate callers reported hearing gun shots in the area of Echo Lake Drive on June 18 at around 4:45 a.m. The area was checked, and no violations or suspicious activity were observed.
FRAUD: There was a report of possible counterfeit currency being used at the Comfort Inn on June 18 at 11:45 p.m. It is uncertain at this time if the currency was counterfeit, and the case is currently under investigation.
