Day camp upcoming

PIQUA — “The Water of Life” will be held Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14, at St John’s Lutheran Church, 248 Wood St. Piqua. This weeklong day camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children entering grades 1-7, without needing to stay away from home. There is no charge for the camp.

Energetic and enthusiastic counselors from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio (LOMO) lead the day camp in partnership with St John’s Lutheran Church, Piqua. Each day of camp is filled with activities that include crafts, singing, games, sports, Bible study, and special events.

Breakfast and lunch is provided for the day campers and there will be a family night on Thursday with ice cream treats. Contact the church at 773-3284 for a registration form and register early.

Car show, cruise-in set

PIQUA — The Miami Valley Corvette Club’s Sixth Annual Car Show & Cruise-In will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Fountain Park in Piqua. The event is free to attend. Registration for vehicles is $10 and awards will be issued at 3:30 p.m. To have your car judged, you must be registered by 1 p.m.

Help make survival kits

PIQUA — Volunteer to help prepare summer survival kits for less fortunate children in the community, then swim free of charge at Tecumseh Woods Pool, 1103 Lenox St., Piqua, from 6:15-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 28. All ages welcome to help.

This event is being hosted by Mark Reedy, Spencer Peltier and The Western Ohio Thrivent Community, in conjunction with the Piqua Salvation Army to help support its Summer Feeding Program in Miami County.

Volunteers will help assemble “Survive the Summer Kits,” which include sunscreen, aloe, Frisbees, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, water bottles and more. Piqua Manor to host event

PIQUA — Piqua Manor will host a Renovation Reveal & Vent Unit Grand Opening from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, June 29 at 1840 W. High St. in Piqua. There will be local wine and craft beer, heavy hors d’oeuvres and guided tours of the new unit. The event is free.
