PIQUA — A local man is facing charges after a 2-year-old child was reportedly found unaccompanied and partially clothed for an unknown amount of time.

Devan Cruea, 21, of Piqua, was charged with two counts of first-degree misdemeanor child endangering, one count of first-degree misdemeanor possession of drugs, one count of third-degree felony tampering with drugs, and one count of fifth-degree felony tampering drugs over the weekend. Cruea was arraigned on these charges Monday in Miami County Municipal Court.

According to Miami County Municipal Court records, a 2-year-old boy was found outside unsupervised and wearing only a shirt on the 400 block of Staunton Street at 2 p.m. Saturday. The child was reportedly in Cruea’s custody. Cruea claimed to be asleep during the incident.

When officers searched Cruea, they reportedly recovered controlled medication for which Cruea did not have a prescription. Cruea claimed to have found the pills, which were believed to be acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate (also known as Vicodin), and diazepam, or Valium.

Cruea was taken into custody. The child was left in the custody of a neighbor, as the mother of the child was unable to be located.

Cruea is currently being held on a total bond of $13,000.

In other news:

• Ernest C. Crawford, 19, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on Monday. Crawford was arraigned on this charge Tuesday morning. He is being held at the Miami County Jail on $5,000.

According to court records, this charge is in connection with a reported incident on Jan. 1, on the 8400 block of North County Road 25-A.

• A male subject reportedly threatened a victim with a gun on the 400 block of West High Street on June 2, at 7:30 p.m. This was due to money that was allegedly owed to the assailant, according to Piqua police reports.

Zaqon M.Z. Clemons, 18, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree felony carrying a concealed weapon, first-degree misdemeanor aggravated menacing, and first-degree misdemeanor drug possession in connection with this incident. Clemons was arraigned on these charges Monday morning in Miami County Municipal Court. He is being held at the Miami County Jail on a total bond of $4,500.
