PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
ROBBERY: Two victims were reportedly assaulted and robbed by an adult male suspect and a juvenile male suspect in the area of North College Street and Park Avenue on May 31 at approximately 3 a.m. According to Piqua police reports, the victims said that they were jumped by two while male subjects. The assailants stole a pair of shoes, Air Jordan Cement 4’s valued at $350, and then allegedly threatened to pull a knife during the incident. One of the victims “recalled being punched multiple times on the head,” according to police reports.
In connection with this incident, Thomas L. Pack, 20, of Piqua, and the male juvenile suspect, 16, were charged with second-degree felony robbery. Pack was incarcerated at the Miami County Jail and is continuing to be held there on $50,000 bond.
The juvenile was also charged with unruly and underage consumption in connection with this incident and was later incarcerated at the Miami County Juvenile Detention Facility.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a subject possibly video taping a movie at Cinemark Theatres on Garbry Road on May 29 at 3:10 p.m. The subject showed a picture they had taken to post to a social media site, but they advised they were not recording the film. The management requested the subject leave, which they did with no further incident.
A complainant reported witnessing a male subject leaning out of the sunroof of a mid 1990’s green Honda Accord possibly pointing a gun at a silver vehicle out in the county in the area of Troy Sidney Road and North County Road 25-A on May 29 at around 3:10 p.m. Complainant advised both vehicles left the area, one traveling south and the other north. The area was checked, and the vehicles were not located. The sheriff’s office was advised.
An officer was dispatched to a suspicious priority in reference of two male subjects parked behind Walmart and attempting to get in through a closed entrance on May 30 at around 3 a.m. One of the male subjects had a warrant for his arrest, so he was arrested and transported to the Miami County Jail.
DISTURBANCE: An officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint in reference to multiple male subjects fighting in the gas station parking lot on South Street on May 29 at around 6:30 p.m. An officer checked the area, and all subjects were gone prior to officer arrival.
PUBLIC INDECENCY: A child reportedly observed a male subject as he was urinating in a back yard on Wood Street on May 29 at 6 p.m. The investigation is pending.
THEFT: A lawn mower was reported stolen at Home Depot on May 30 at 10:30 a.m. The manager advised the possible suspect as being a white male. The investigation is pending.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A window was broken at a business on West High Street on May 30.
