PIQUA — The Friends of the Piqua Public Library will host the third event of their 2017 Library Lounge Series, a Broadway sing-along. In keeping with this year’s theme, “Art Inspired,” the performing arts will be explored on Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Piqua Library, 116 W. High St.

The David Wion Trio will lead the audience in an evening of singing along with Broadway tunes. Wion, an accomplished singer, will be accompanied by his back-up singers and trio of bass, piano, and guitar. He is the assistant director of the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, studied piano-performance and composition at Wittenberg University, and went to Milton-Union High School.

Lyric sheets of all time popular Broadway tunes will be provided, and the audience will be invited to request their favorites.

Another highlight of the evening will be a performance by YouTube sensation Alex Wunder, a tenor and graduate of Fairmont High School. Wunder has sung the national anthem at a number of professional sporting events.

Doors will open at 6:30, with social and refreshment time from 6:30-7 p.m.. The sing-along will be from 7-8:30 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public for those 21 and older because wine will be available.

Seating is limited so admission is by ticket only. Tickets will be available to the public at the front desk of the library beginning June 15.
