Ice cream social set
BRADFORD — An homemade ice cream social will be from 5-7 p.m. June 1 at Greenville Creek Christian Church, 5110 Buckneck Road, Bradford. The menu will include four flavors of ice cream, hot dogs, ham, sloppy joes and chicken sandwiches. Cake, pie and drinks also will be available. Those 90 and over will receive free pie.
Seminar and vendor’s market planned
PIQUA — The Upper Miami Valley Weston A. Price will welcome Dr. Wayne A. Feister, D.O., as our guest speaker on Tuesday, June 6, at 7 p.m. at the Piqua Nazarene Church, 400 S. Sunset Drive. The topic will be “How to care for and feed your mitochondria” which will present the story of a medical epiphany and a possible breakthrough in how healthcare professionals explain and treat those perplexing diseases. Our vendor’s market will open at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

PIQUA — St. James Episcopal Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School for children five to 12-years-old. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 6-8, from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon until June 2. All Children are invited to attend.
St. Mary’s Parish Festival coming
PIQUA — St. Mary Parish Festival is celebrating its 47th year of fun and festivities for the parish and community the weekend of June 2-4. The annual festival will be held Friday, June 2, from 6-11 p.m., Saturday, June 3, from 3-11 p.m. and Sunday, June 4, from 1:30-7 p.m. It will feature rides, live entertainment, food, cake booth, kiddieland, pony rides, games of chance, corn hole tournament, grand raffle and more!
City prayer walk and jam session planned
PIQUA — The public is invited to take part in the second annual God Belongs in Our City Prayer Walk and Jam Session on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The five mile walk will begin at Washington School in the parking lot on Sunset and end at Hance Pavilion at Fountain Park with rest and prayer stops along the way.
The event will have guest evangelist Windy Kessen, corn hole games, 50/50 drawing, face painting, baptisms, local Christian bands, and food. Baptism will be held at the Miami River boat ramp.

Fields of Grace Worship Center to host Paul Teutul, Jr.
COVINGTON — On Sunday morning, June 4, Fields of Grace Worship Center in Covington will be hosting Paul Teutul Jr. at their 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
This is in conjunction with their Bike Blessing and a ride to follow.
Motorcycle master Paul Teutul Jr. has been molding metal since the age of 12 when he began his apprenticeship at his father’s steel business. He’s widely recognized as the chief designer and fabricator of some of the world’s most famous motorcycles, as featured in the hit television series American Chopper on the Discovery Channel.
Although Paul Jr. started his career as cofounder of Orange County Choppers, after branching off, he now shares his creativity and unique approach to design with the world through his work at Paul Jr. Designs. Founded in 2010, his new company pushes the limits on creativity beyond just motorcycles, where Paul continues to pursue his passion for building the impossible.

Friendship Saturday planned
PIQUA — Piqua United Pentecostal, 651 W Ash St., is going to holding the community outreach event Friendship Saturday on Saturday, June 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We will be giving away free hot dogs and cold drinks. Also we will be taking registration on a $100 gift card drawing. We are looking to help and feed as many as we can.
Women’s Day Celebration planned
PIQUA — Cyrene AME Church, 227 W. Ash St., invites the public to attend their Annual Women’s Day Celebration on Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. The theme will be “The woman God sees — the Lord delights in her.” They will also be honoring past warriors of Cyrene AME Church.
Their speaker will be Colleen McMurray of Columbus. She was born and raised in Piqua. She is also a former member of Cyrene AME Church. Some of the family members of the founding members of Cyrene AME Church will have some encouraging words to share about Cyrene Warriors.
Madison Avenue VBS set
PIQUA — Madison Ave. First Church of God, located at 922 Madison Ave., will hold Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30 p.m. June 12-16 for children in preschool through sixth grade. The theme will be “Operation Arctic.”

VBS at Pleasant Hill First Brethren Church
PLEASANT HILL — Plan to send your children to Lifeway’s ’Submerged’ Vacation Bible School at Pleasant Hill First Brethren Church, June 12-16, from 9a.m. to noon.
They will learn how Jesus saw people for who they were deep down, not who they appeared to be on the surface.
The week will be filled with Bible-learning experiences, games, songs, a snack, as well as other exciting activities.
The program is for those age three (potty-trained) through eighth graders.
On Monday, please arrive at 8:45 a.m. so your child can register.
On Friday evening, June 16, you are invited to return for a special ‘Family Fun Night’ with games & food from 6-8 p.m.

“Live Free” reading program returns
CASSTOWN — The Casstown United Methodist Church, thanks to a grant provided by the Miami Valley District of the United Methodist Church, will be offering the “Live Free” reading and activity program this summer for youth entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
The program will be offered once a week for five weeks on Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Casstown UMC, 102 Center St., Casstown. The dates of the program are: June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18 and July 25.
“Live Free,” which highlights reading skill development, will also include crafts, music and tips for healthy living. A healthy lunch and snack (following the Ohio Department of Education summer lunch program guidelines) is also included.
