CASSTOWN — The May 2017 Miami East-MVCTC FFA Members of the Month are Katie Bodenmiller, Carly Gump, Weston Hodge, Emma Linn, and Alyssa Westgerdes. They are all retired chapter officers and will soon be graduates of Miami East High School.
Bodenmiller is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Bodenmiller of Casstown. She participated in the State Food Science Career Development Event, FFA Camp, and earned her State FFA Degree. She plans to attend Muskingum College and major in Physical Therapy.
Gump is the daughter of Kevin and Janet Gump of Fletcher. She participated in State General Livestock Career Development Event, Ag Day for elementary students, and earned her State FFA Degree. She plans to attend Lincoln Land College in Illinois and major in Agricultural Communications.
Hodge is the son of Steve and Jenny Hodge of Tipp City. He participated in the State Agricultural Mechanical and Technical Systems Career Development Event and earned his State FFA Degree. He plans to attend Wright State University Lake Campus and major in Engineering.
Linn is the daughter of Dave and Lisa Linn of Piqua. She participated in the State Food Science Career Development Event, State and National FFA Conventions, and Project Wild with elementary students. She plans to attend Ohio University with a major in Geology.
Westgerdes is the daughter of Dave and Linda Westgerdes of Piqua. She participated in the State Agricultural Sales Career Development Event, earned the State FFA Degree, and was a State Proficiency Finalist. She plans to attend Findlay University and major in Physical Therapy.
Every month of the school year the Miami East-MVCTC FFA will select a student to be the FFA Member of the Month. The officer team will nominate one student that has been actively involved in the FFA chapter, school and community activities. If selected, the member will be recognized at the monthly FFA meeting, have their picture displayed in the Miami East Ag Room, and will receive a special medallion on celebration of their accomplishment.
