May 15

FAKE ID: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a speeding violation. The driver handed the deputy an Ohio Operators License that was oriented for a person under the age of 21 years old. The driver had left her billfold open and the deputy saw another driver’s license that was oriented for being a person being 21 years of age or older. The license was a KY operators license and was found to be fake. The deputy confiscated the fake I.D. and issued the driver a citation for speeding.


A resident in the 1800 block of Dayton Brandt Road, Elizabeth Twp., called to report that approximately 1,000 feet of fence line sustained damage to it from a farmer knocking over trees and pushing the trunks into the fence. The reporting party stated he owns the woods alongside the farm field and the owner of the farm field contracted the farming of the land with a new company this year. The company came out four to six weeks ago and cut down the trees and pushed them into the woods, damaging the fence. The reporting party contacted the farm owner who contacted the company and they stated they would fix it but have not done so. The deputy tried to get in contact with the farm owner at her home as well as calling her and was unable to get in touch. At this time, the farming company is unknown. Case pending.

ASSAULT: A deputy was dispatched to the MCIF in regards to an assault not in progress. Subsequently, two males were charged with Disorderly Conduct.

May 16

ASSAULT: A deputy responded to the Miami County Incarceration Facility for a fight between inmates. At the conclusion of the investigation one inmate was charged with assault and the other inmate was charged with disorderly conduct.

May 17

BURGLARY: A deputy responded to the 1000 block of Lightner Blvd, Monroe Twp., in reference to a burglary not in progress. A set of finger prints were collected and this case is pending

May 19

SUSPICIOUS: A deputy responded to 5765 Karnes Rd. on a report of a suspicious male on the property. The male reportedly told the caller to 911 that he had been robbed and dropped off near the intersection of Karnes Rd. and Shearer Rd.

TIRES SLASHED: The reporting party reported damage to his truck while it was parked in the parking lot of a local bar called The Vault. Someone had punctured all four of his tires. The damaged tires were size 265/70R18

HARASSMENT: A deputy was dispatched to the Miami County Dispatch Center on a report of an individual calling in and harassing 911 dispatchers.

May 20

MEDICATION MISSING: A deputy responded to Koester Pavilion for a theft of medication complaint and was advised a outsource nurse has been taking medications. Case pending.

DOGS GONE: A resident in the 10000 block of State Route 571, Laura, reported someone had gotten into her garage and either stolen or let out her two dogs.

DISORDERLY: A deputy responded to an assist squad call in the 9000 block of West US Route 36 in Newberry Township. The complainant advised an unknown male was in his garage having a medical issue and becoming combative. It was determined the male was highly intoxicated, and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

OVI: A deputy responded to the area of Merrimont and Brokenwoods in reference to a reckless driving complaint. Upon further investigation, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of OVI and possession of drugs.

ASSAULT: A deputy was dispatched to the incarceration facility on a assault not in progress. Inmates Matthew Pizzo and Tyler Thompson had been in an altercation. Tyler Thompson needed to be transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for a cut on his inner lip.

May 21

OVI: A deputy responded to the listed location for an accident and observed the listed vehicle in a ditch on the South side of Peterson Road West of Troy-Sidney Road. The listed vehicle struck a DP&L pole. The operator was charged with OVI, Failure to Control, and OVI DUS. The operator was taken to her residence.
