PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
MENACING: A male juvenile allegedly threatened to hit a woman in the head with a bat at the Piqua Senior Apartments on Aug. 13. The juvenile was not located.
A woman stated that she had been threatened by a driver after a road rage incident in the area of N. Wayne and W. Market Streets on Aug. 14 at 3:48 p.m.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a male looking in vehicles outside of the Marathon at 8855 N. County Road 25-A on Aug. 14 at 11:51 a.m. The business was unaware of the call and no problems were found, according to police reports.
A male wearing a cape, who had his face painted, was found at Fountain Park on Aug. 14 at 12:27 p.m. The male was reportedly cooperative and not committing a crime.
DISTURBANCE: A woman’s daughter was reportedly physical with her on the 500 block of Garnsey Street on Aug. 14 at 12:28 p.m. A female juvenile was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence.
A woman’s live-in boyfriend reportedly grabbed her “around the throat and scratched her right arm” while attempting to take a cell phone away from the woman, according to police reports. The incident reportedly occurred on the 300 block of Young Street on Aug. 14 at 1:22 p.m. Piqua resident William A. White, 42, was charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence.
A couple was reportedly arguing over financial issues on the 1800 block of New Haven Road on Aug. 14 at 3:42 p.m. There were no reports or threats of violence.
Police responded to a verbal argument between a husband and wife about a remote garage door opener on the 1300 block of Arrowhead Drive on Aug. 14 at 5:31 p.m. There were no reports or threats of violence.
A male was reportedly causing a disturbance at the Shell South station at 600 South St. on Aug. 14 at 7:23 p.m.
There was a disturbance reported on the 500 block of Garnsey Street on Aug. 14 at 9:18 p.m. It was reportedly a verbal argument over a family matter. There were no reports or threats of violence.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: A woman stated that unknown males had “cursed at her and acted disorderly” at the Red Carpet Inn on Country Club Road on Aug. 14 at 6:53 p.m.
ASSAULT: During an assist squad call, an officer found a female “lying face down on the sidewalk” and there was reportedly a “puddle of blood on the ground near her mouth,” according to police reports. She stated that a male had hit her and she fell. The incident occurred on the 200 block of N. College Street on Aug. 14 at 6:51 p.m.
THEFT: Police responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Miami Valley Centre Mall at the Afterthoughts Boutique on Aug. 14 at 8:14 p.m. Piqua resident Matthew G. Johnson, 33, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft and first-degree misdemeanor possession of criminal tools in connection with this incident.
Property was reportedly stolen from a vehicle on the 600 block of S. Sunset Drive on Aug. 14 at 9:21 p.m.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A garage door was reportedly damaged on the 1400 block of Plum Street on Aug. 14 at 9 p.m.
The driver side mirror of a vehicle was reportedly damaged on the 800 block of S. Main Street on Aug. 15 at 12:45 a.m.
RECKLESS OPERATION: A complainant stated that a silver Volkswagen “nearly ran him off the road” outside of the Miami Valley Centre Mall on Aug. 14 at 9:44 p.m.
