Author to be hosted
PIQUA — The Upper Miami Valley Weston A. Price Chapter will host author/ethnobotanist Dawn Combs, M.A., on Tuesday, April 4, at the Piqua Nazarene Church, 400 S. Sunset Drive at 7 p.m.
Combs is the founder of Mockingbird Meadows and the creator of all the farm’s products. She is a whole plant health educator who writes for several national magazines including Heirloom Gardener, Mother Earth Living, and Hobby Farms Magazine.
Covington Community Easter Egg Hunt set at the park
COVINGTON — On April 8, Fields of Grace worship Center will be hosting the seventh annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. There will be over 25,000 eggs to hunt this year.Baskets and bikes are to be given away. New sizes and more bikes have been added to the drawings this year, and there will be something new for our babies this year.
The event will take place this year at the Covington Community Park at 1 p.m. for rain, shine, or snow. The hunt will begin promptly at 1:20 p.m., so come early to get in line.
The event is free and open to all children ages from newborns to 11-year-olds in all surrounding communities. Age groups will be divided for the hunt beginning with the youngest age group first. Only one parent will be allowed to enter with their child when designated except for the baby group in which two parents will be allowed.
Participants are asked to please bring something to collect their eggs in. We will once again be recycling the plastic eggs after the hunt is over.
The Easter Bunny will once again be available for pictures. This year he will have his own area for better picture availability.
Please park at Finfrock Construction and surrounding streets of of Main Street. The only entry into the park on the day of the hunt will be off of Main Street. There will be no parking at the park. Transportation will be provided down to the park for those who need it.

PIQUA —The Christian Life Center, located at 865 County Road 25-A, will be holding their “Egg-Venture,” an indoor Easter Adventure on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. This is for children, including newborns to children in the fourth grade. This event will include bounce houses, crafts, cotton candy, interactive stories, free hot dogs and drinks, door prizes, and age-specific egg hunts beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Good Friday Worship Chorus forming
PIQUA — The annual Piqua Community Good Friday Service sponsored by the Piqua Association of Churches will be held at Greene Street United Methodist Church, 415 W. Greene St., Piqua on Friday, April 14, from noon to 1:30 p.m. (come and go as schedules allow). Pastors from many churches will be sharing in the worship experience.
Once again a community chorus is being assembled to sing one anthem during the worship service. Men and women of all ages who love to sing are welcome to participate. A single rehearsal for the chorus will be held on Monday evening, April 10, at 7:15 p.m. at Greene Street UMC. Music to be sung is available from church choir directors/praise team leaders throughout the community or can be provided by phoning Marilyn Carey at 773-8149 or emailing to email@example.com.
Largest Easter egg hunt in county set
TIPP CITY — Families with children walking up to age 12 are invited to the largest Easter egg hunt in Miami County with more than 50,000 filled eggs, Saturday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of Ginghamsburg Church, 5769 S. Co. Rd. 25A, Tipp City.
Come and experience the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, through a live drama. Kids also enjoy crafts, games, petting zoo with chicks, donkeys and bunnies as well as a visit from the Easter bunny and snacks, hot chocolate and much more.
Registration for this fifth annual event begins at 9:30 a.m. the morning of the event with the first egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m. Each hunt zone is broken down into four different age groups: walking-age 2, age 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Each hunt zone also includes prize eggs and golden eggs that are redeemable for large prize items. This is one hunt families won’t want to miss!

‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ set
PIQUA —Upper Valley Community Church, located at 1400 Seidel Pkwy., will be hosting their annual Easter Eggstravaganza on April 15 from 1-3pm.
The EasterJam sessions will be filled with 25 minutes of high-energy music, a blacklight performance, the Easter story, and door prizes. Following EasterJame, attendees will enjoy exclusive entrance to the Easter Egg Hunt. EasterJam will be held at the attendee’s registration assigned time of 1 or 2 p.m.
This event will also feature balloon scultpting, cookie decorating, costumed characters, crafts, a goldfish toss, hair streaking, a petting zoo, a photo booth, sand art, train rides, wagon rides, and more. There will be over 30 activity stations.
