MIAMI COUNTY — A 24-year-old man will be arraigned on serious charges following a high-speed chase through Miami County, which killed an Englewood man Monday afternoon.

Jordan Anthony Russell Harville, 24, of Clayton, is currently incarcerated on a warrant for fourth-degree theft. According to reports, Harville stole a pickup truck from northern Miami County and led police on a high-speed chase around 4 p.m. Monday. Troy Police and Miami County Sheriff’s deputies pursued Harville and attempted to use stop sticks.

Harville led police on the chase through 7000 block of North Dixie Drive in Harrison Township when the stolen truck struck a car as it pulled out of a driveway, killing the driver of the car.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 28-year-old Anthony Hufford of Englewood.

Harville was then taken into custody by Troy Police and taken to Upper Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.

On Tuesday, Harville was arraigned on $75,000 bond and a preliminary hearing set for April 1 with Judge Gary Nasal.

Other charges have not yet been filed in the case.

The Troy Police Department issued a statement late Tuesday. The press release stated, “on March 27, 2017 the Troy Police Department and others were involved in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle that was driving at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner.

The criminal investigation of the incident is ongoing with the prosecutors’ office and other jurisdictions. An administrative review of the pursuit will be completed once all the information from the several agencies is available. It would be premature to comment on the pursuit until such a review has taken place.”
