Forest Hill cleanup planned

PIQUA — Forest Hill Cemetery and Arboretum in Piqua will be doing its spring cleanup during the week of March 20-24. Depending on the weather, the spring cleanup could be extended one week. Do not place any new items at the grave site until the first full week of April.

All Christmas blankets and Christmas wreaths will be removed as well as any artificial flowers not placed in a vase. Ground decorations that are broken or unsightly will be removed as well. All rules can be found at or by calling the office at 773-2614 for additional information.

Streets to close temporarily

PIQUA — A number of street closings are scheduled to occur soon. They include the following locations: Cedrarbrook on today, Harrison Street on March 11, Young and Adams streets on March 14, and First Street on March 16 and 21.

Covington BOE to meet

COVINGTON — The regular March meeting of the Covington Board of Education has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 22, at 6 p.m. instead of Thursday, March 16. The board will meet in the media center of the K-8 building, located at 807 Chestnut St.

Food safety training offered

TROY — Ohio State University Extension, Miami County has partnered with TAP (Training Achievement Program) Series to offer an online version of the Level 2 Food Safety training which meets all Ohio Department of Health requirements.

You can complete the online course at your own speed and at a time that works for you. Once training is completed, you will take a proctored certification exam in Troy.

Registration fee of $150 is non-refundable for both the online class and exam. There is an additional fee of $25, if the selected exam date is rescheduled. The ServSafe Manager exam is proctored by an OSU Extension Educator who is a Certified ServSafe® Proctor.

Exam dates are:

• April 21, 12-3 p.m. — register by April 6

• May 4, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. — register by April 20

• May 19, 12-3 p.m. — register by May 5

All exams will take place in the Old Troy Courthouse, OSU Extension Office Meeting Room, 201 W. Main St. To register, contact the OSU Extension Office, Miami County at (937) 440-3945.
