PIQUA — An alleged cocaine dealer was picked up on numerous warrants for his arrest on Thursday.
Oscar F. Simmons, Jr., 26, of Columbus, was arraigned Friday in Miami County Municipal Court on three counts of fourth-degree felony trafficking in drugs and three counts of fifth-degree felony trafficking in drugs for allegedly selling cocaine in Piqua.
According to Miami County Municipal Court records, there were reported incidents of Simmons selling drugs on the 400 block of Wood Street in February and April, the 100 block of South Wayne Street in February, the 1500 block Andover Avenue in February and March, and the 700 block of North Downing Street in May. Three of the reported incidents took place within a school safety zone as they were within 1,000 feet of Piqua Catholic School.
Substances recovered from those alleged drug buys tested positive for cocaine at the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab, according to court records. The amounts recovered range from 0.07 grams to 0.47 grams.
Simmons is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $80,000 bond. A preliminary hearing for Simmons is scheduled for Dec. 14.
