Piqua Tennis Tournament returns

PIQUA — The Piqua Tennis Association is sponsoring annual tennis tournament with support from the city of Piqua, Piqua City Schools, Schroeder Tennis Center, Tapestry Angel, Victor Kim D.D.S., Atlantis Sportswear and A.H. Tennis Shop located in Schroeder Tennis Center. The 2015 Piqua City Open Tennis Tournament will be held over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5 through Sept. 7, 2015.

The following categories will be offered to best accommodate players level: boy’s singles for ages 12, 14, 16 and 18, men’s and women’s singles and doubles with events in the open division, and 35 and over, as well as men’s 50 and over, and 62 and over. There will also be mixed doubles in the open category. The 62 and over men’s doubles will be a “Golden Buckeye Blind Draw.” Those interested in playing need not have a partner; partners will be assigned and participants will be guaranteed at least two matches.

The cost is $12.00 per person for each event entered. Ladies receive 1st singles entry free. The tournament will be held at the Piqua Junior High Tennis Courts, featuring newly resurfaced courts. Modern restroom facilities, air conditioned hallways, shade tents and bleachers are on site. All participants will receive a tournament t-shirt. Championship and runner-up trophies will be awarded in all categories.

Entry forms are available at Schroeder Tennis Center or may be downloaded from the City of Piqua web page at www.piquaoh.org (click on “Piqua City Open Entry Form” at the bottom of the home page).
