PIQUA – The community is invited to join Piqua High School Key Club in donating hats, mittens and scarves to the Bethany Center. Items can be placed in a barrel in the lobby of Piqua High School. The drive will continue until Dec. 16, according to Juliya Hsiang, Key Club President.

“The students at the high school are very excited to be able to help children in the community,” said Hsiang. “We have had this collection for several years and know that it really helps children stay warm during the cold days.”

“All items will be donated to the Bethany Center and given to families in Piqua. Items can also be given to any Key Club or Kiwanis Club member if you are unable to get to the high school,” she added.

Key Club is a high school group sponsored by the Piqua Kiwanis Club. The group is dedicated to volunteering, promoting leadership and sponsoring events for the youth in the community. All high school students are invited to be part of the club which meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 2:30 in the PHS Library. PHS advisers are Kim Bean and Bonnie Jackson with Mark Wion and Gretchen Roeth serving as Kiwanis Club advisers.
