PIQUA — Twenty-two students from the Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division Practical Nursing program turned the dream of graduating from nursing school into a reality on Nov. 22. The event was attended by Career Center staff members, family, and friends.
Superintendent Dr. Nancy Luce welcomed those in attendance and congratulated the graduates on reaching this important achievement.
Class adviser Vickie Ashman commended the graduates on their accomplishment and offered words of inspiration. “ … nursing will test your knowledge, skill, endurance, and most of all it will pull at the strings of your heart,” she said. Remember compassion and kindness and always strive to be an excellent nurse.”
Lori Ludwig, program director, paid special tribute to Destini Speraw of Troy for superior attendance, and Krista Snider of Piqua was recognized as the recipient of the Doris J. Luckett scholarship award.
Speraw also was recognized for her contribution as an elected class representative, as was Debra Gallagher of Versailles.
Ludwig pinned the graduates and Adult Division Director Dr. Barbara Wagner awarded the diplomas.
