Charismatic Mass

PIQUA — All are welcome to a Charismatic Mass with praying over people for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Catholics and non Catholics are invited to attend on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., St. Boniface Church, 310 S. Downing St., Piqua.

Fr. Angelo Caserta, Fr. Tom Bolte and Catholic Prayer Group Members will pray over people, or you can stand in for someone unable to be present.

Upper Miami Valley Weston A. Price Chapter

PIQUA — Piqua Nazarene Church welcomes the Upper Miami Valley Weston A. Price Chapter on Tuesday, August 4, at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Feister will be our speaker on the topic of cookware – what’s safe and what’s not.

We will have a vendor’s market opening at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

FLETCHER — Fletcher United Methodist Church is now accepting registrations for their pre-school program (ages 3-5) for the 2015-2016 school year.

St. Teresa to hold annual festival

COVINGTON — St. Teresa Catholic Church is holding its annual festival from 4-11 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 and 12-4 p.m. Aug. 2 at the church, 6925 W. US Rt. 36, Covington.

Friday will start with our famous fish fry from 4-6:30 with bingo starting at 7. Saturday will include bingo from 5-10 and Sunday bingo will be from 12-4. Saturday and Sunday will feature free horse rides, as well as a clown on Sunday. On Sunday barbecue chicken dinners are back starting at noon until gone. Tickets for the dinners can be purchased at Arens Publications, 395 S. High St., Covington or the day of the event.

Also on Sunday Miami Valley Cruisers will have a car show in the lot in front of the church. There is a large raffle with a top prize of $500.00 and many other prizes. Those tickets can also be purchased at Arens or during the festival. There will also be Chuck-A-Luck, a silent auction, and other games of chance all weekend.

Carnival Night at FLC July 31

TROY — First Lutheran Church will sponsor a fun carnival night from 5-8 p.m. July 31 at the church, 2899 W. Main St., Troy.

The carnival will include free food and free games including a Disney inflatable bounce house, dunk tank, duck pond, plinko, ring toss, frisbee, tic tac toe, gutter game and prizes. The public is invited to attend.

Ice cream social set for Aug. 1

LAURA — Laura Christian Church invites all to its ice cream social from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 1 at the church, 1 S. Main St., Laura. Six flavors of ice cream are available, as well as Sloppy Joes, hot dogs, Coney dogs, desserts, lemonade and coffee. Eat in or carry out.

All proceeds benefit the Laura Christian Deacons’ Fund, which helps families in need.

Support for parents, caregivers

TROY — Special seminar and support groups are under way at St. Patrick Parish. The church offers GriefShare for those who have lost loved ones through death. Two sessions are offered on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. in the Parish Center, 444 E. Water St., Troy.

Cancer Companions is offered on the second and fourth Thursdays. These sessions are for patients, family and care givers. These support groups can be beneficial for those going through a tough time to help them feel they are not alone or their thoughts and feelings are not abnormal. Share with those dealing with the same situations and help each other through this time while learning ways to do it from the experts.
