PIQUA — It’s the oldest rivalry in Ohio, and it’s time to take the battle to the field once again. The annual football game between the Piqua Indians and Troy Trojans will take place on Friday, Oct. 28, in Piqua, and local Rotarians want to help make the matchup more exciting for everyone.
For the first time ever, the Piqua and Troy Rotary clubs will join forces to raise money for local programs by selling chances to win a cash prize during the game. The fundraiser is a golf ball drop, and the clubs have a goal to sell a total of 2,000 tickets before kickoff. Each ticket costs $5 and the winner need not be present to claim their prize. The winner may win up to $1,000 if their ball reaches the hole. If multiple balls go into the hole, the prize will be divided between the lucky winners.
Tickets are available from members of each club, and the deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday, Oct. 25. If you have questions or would like more information, contact any member of the Piqua Rotary Club or Diana Davis at (937) 778-2888.
