PIQUA — A community education forum featuring state and local issues and candidates in the November election affecting Piqua area residents will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the YWCA Piqua. The forum, which is organized by the YWCA Public Policy Committee, is free and open to the public.
This event will feature invited candidates with opposition who are running in the Nov. 8 General Election, including Miami County Sheriff (David Duchak and Joe Mahan) and 8th District Representative to Congress (Warren Davidson and Steve Fought).
The two local issues that will be on the ballot include Piqua City Charter Amendments 1 and 2 (Stacy Wall) and Tri County Board of Mental Health Levy Renewal (Mark McDaniel).
Nanci McMaken, member of the YWCA Public Policy Committee, will serve as moderator. Written questions from the audience will be accepted and presented to the candidates and issue representative by the moderator.
The forum will have a delayed broadcast at 6 p.m. Oct. 27, by WPTW (1570 AM) and will also be taped for later broadcast by WOTVC (Channel 5).
