MIAMI COUNTY — At their meeting Thursday, the Miami County Commissioners authorized the issuance of bonds and approved several contracts.
In order to finance several recently completed projects, the county will issue about $5.6 million in bonds.
These projects include the installation of a new HVAC system in the Safety Building and courthouse, plumbing improvements in the Safety Building, jail renovations, and the addition of an unattended drop-off and new scales at the Transfer Station.
The commissioners also approved a contract for video conferencing equipment and installation to Justice AV Solutions at a cost of $112,786.
The Sheriff’s Office will be internally billed for the portion of the project involving the Incarceration Facility, at a cost of $14,670.
The board also approved the replacement of flooring in the courthouse, in the first floor hallway and in the building entries.
The cost is not to exceed $20,360.
The commissioners authorized services from several companies, including court reporting from Charlene Nichols & Associates and consulting services from Wehrkamp Engineering Inc. as requested by the Department of Development.
