MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Commissioners approved several purchases for the county’s Communication Center at their meeting Monday and authorized a road work contract.
The board awarded the contract for the Kessler-Cowlesville reconstruction project to the John R. Jurgensen Company at a cost of $341,923.
This approval is also a notice to proceed with the project, which will reconstruct the roadway from the Tipp City corporation limit to Nashville Road.
The commissioners also approved purchases and contracts for the Communication Center, including six new HP workstations and related items, including server equipment, to replace older equipment before it fails.
The switches included in this purchase allow all systems at each work station to be operated from one mouse and keyboard.

The board also approved the purchase of another five computers for Communication Center supervisors, as well as other related equipment. The total cost of this purchase is $4,847.
Also for the Communication Center, the commissioners approved a contract with the Communication Center and Agile Network Builders.
This agreement will provide network connectivity between the radio consoles at the center and the MARCS core system in Butler County. This is necessary in order for the county’s radio consoles to work properly on the MARCS radio system.
The total installation cost is $5,160
