MIAMI COUNTY — With super-human strength, teams of teens took to the Miami County Fairgrounds track to flex their muscles in the Human Tractor Pull competition on Saturday.
Jarrett Winner, Cadence Gross, Lauren Wright, and Katelynn Wallace, all 13, were named the winners in their division full of tugging teens. The team will split up their $200 in winnings to add to their fun .
Wallace said she wanted to compete in the unique fair event to have fun with her friends at the fair.
“You try to get the tractor to the cone first, whoever gets there first wins,” Wallace said.
Gross’ dad, Matt, and uncle Brian also competed in the adult division of the human tractor pull.
“We won last year so we came back this year,” Gross said. “It’s fun to pull with my friends.”
Wright also helped power pull the antique tractor across the track Saturday afternoon.
“I enjoyed doing it with my friends,” Wright said. “We could do it together since we go to school together and we won first place.”
The truck and tractor pulls were canceled due to weather on Saturday evening.
The Human Tractor Pull has three divisions: ages 9-15, 16-25 and 26 and up. The first place team receives $200, second place $100 and third place $50. Entry forms are available in the fair book to participate.
