PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A garage was reportedly egged on Washington Avenue overnight between July 7-8.
A house and vehicle were egged on Park Avenue overnight between July 7-8.
A caller reported that the front of his house had been covered in toilet paper and ketchup on Park Avenue on July 9 at 4:30 a.m.
TRESPASSING: A resident found an unknown subject sleeping on the resident’s couch July 8 at 7:20 a.m. The subject was charged and transported to his residence. Kevin E. Dowty, 29, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal trespass in connection with this incident.
A complainant reported that he believed subjects came to a business on E. Ash Street possibly to assault him on July 9 at 3:43 a.m. The complainant wanted the subjects to leave, and they did.
MENACING: A caller advised that a subject was beginning to scare her on Covington Avenue on July 8. The subject reportedly left a note on the caller’s car a few weeks ago and then showed up at the caller’s work place on July 7. The subject was warned to stop that behavior or he would be charged, according to police reports.
A male juvenile reported that another male juvenile was “threatening him and trying to take his scooter” at Pistenbarger Park on July 8 at 8:30 p.m.
INFORMATION REPORT: A cable line was hanging in the roadway on Harrison Street on July 8 at 3:10 p.m. An officer cut the line and moved it out of the way.
SUSPICIOUS: There a was suspicious complaint on Maryville Lane on July 8 at 5 p.m. It was reportedly a private investigator conducting surveillance.
A caller reported hearing possible gunshots fired on Park Avenue on July 8 at 10:15 p.m. An officer checked the area and reported hearing firecrackers in the distance.
THEFT: Money was reported stolen from a vehicle on W. Grant Street on July 8 at 8 p.m.
A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Pinewood Avenue overnight between July 8-9.
DISTURBANCE: A male subject reportedly assaulted a known woman with a wooden back scratcher on South Street on July 8 at 10:50 p.m. Dennis L. O’Neal, 67, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with this incident. In Troy, O’Neal is also facing unrelated charges of first-degree misdemeanor OVI, first-degree misdemeanor failure to reinstate license, fourth-degree misdemeanor consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, and minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct. O’Neal is being held at the Miami County Jail on $8,500 bond.
A male subject was reportedly refusing to leave a residence on South Street on July 8 at 11:12 p.m. The resident reportedly pushed the subject. The subject was warned for trespassing.
DRUG OVERDOSE: A male subject reportedly overdosed on heroin on McKinley Avenue on July 9 at 4:10 a.m. and was transported to UVMC.
