Man found unresponsive at Troy Walgreen’s

Wellman, 22, charged with drug possession and disorderly conduct

TROY — The Troy Police Department has charged Brandon Wellman, 21, of Troy, with several drug-related charges after he was found unresponsive in the bathroom at the Market Street Walgreen’s late Saturday night.

Wellman was charged with alleged possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs (Adderall) and disorderly conduct.

According to police reports, the store manager found Wellman in the men’s bathroom around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4. He was unconscious and his pants were around his ankles. The officer attempted several times to wake up Wellman. Another officer arrived to help Wellman walk out of the store.

The officer then began to pat down Brandon and felt a prescription bottle in the left front pants pocket. The officer asked Brandon what was in the bottle and he did not respond. Officers found a small baggie of marijuana in the bottle along with 15 1/2 Adderall tablets. The bottle’s label had been peeled off. The officer then searched the right pants pocket and pulled out a small baggie of a white powder. The officer then asked Brandon what the white powder was and he again did not respond. Officers conducted a field test on the white powder and got a positive reaction for cocaine.

Wellman was transported to the police station for questioning, although officers found “he was never coherent enough to finish a thought.” Wellman was then booked at the Miami County Jail.
