PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a disturbance on the 700 block of Young Street involving subjects arguing over property on May 23 at 8:22 a.m. Several warnings were issued.
Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint in the area of S. Roosevelt Avenue and Young Street on May 24 at 1 a.m. An officer took the subject reported as acting disorderly home. The subject refused to go inside. The officer warned the subject for disorderly conduct and charged the subject when he refused again to go inside. William A. Grissom, 24, of Piqua was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.
There was a report of a large fight between several people on the 200 block of S. Wayne Street on May 24 at 10 p.m. Numerous subjects were charged with disorderly conduct.
ACCIDENT: There was a report of a two-vehicle accident in the area of N. Sunset Drive and W. High Street on May 23 at 4 p.m. There were minor damages and no injuries.
There was a report of a traffic crash in the area of Riverside Drive and N. Downing Street on May 24 at 1 p.m.
DRUG OFFENSE: There was “a report of a vehicle that had left a residence with drugs in it” in the area of E. Grant and S. Main streets on May 23 at 4:44 p.m., according to police reports. A small amount of marijuana was reportedly located.
During a traffic stop for operating a vehicle with no headlights, the male driver allegedly admitted to have marijuana in the vehicle. The incident took place in the area of N. Wayne and W. Water streets on May 23 at 11 p.m. Preston M. Stephenson, 30, of Piqua was cited with minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana in connection with this incident.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY: There was a report of a possible receiving stolen property issue on the 400 block of New Street on May 23 at 4:54 p.m. “An involved welder was possibly stolen out of Springfield,” according to police reports. Jeff A. Mowery, 49, of Piqua was charged with second-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property in connection with this incident.
ANIMAL PROBLEM: A resident claimed “that a dog attacked his dog that was inside his garage,” according to police reports. The incident was reported on the 1000 block of Clark Avenue on May 23 at 5 p.m. The case is pending.
ASSAULT: A subject reported that she was assaulted by three other female subjects in the area of Wood and S. Downing streets on May 23 at 7:20 p.m. The victim reportedly had minor injuries. Subjects were charged in connection with this incident.
There was a report of an assault on the 200 block of S. Downing Street on May 24 at 3:30 p.m. The victim reported that a known female swerved toward him and another subject with her car.
UNRULY JUVENILE: There was a report of juveniles riding skateboards in the street and obstructing traffic on the 500 block of Wilson Avenue on May 23 at 8:25 p.m. The juveniles were warned about riding their skateboards in the street.
SUSPICIOUS: A resident stated that her dog was missing, and the resident was unsure if the dog ran away or was stolen. The incident was reported on the 100 block of Staunton Street overnight between May 22-23.
PUBLIC INDECENCY: An officer observed a male subject urinating in the parking lot of Lucky’s Bar on the 100 block of N. Main Street on May 24 at 2:15 a.m. The subject “then entered his vehicle and attempted to drive away,” according to police reports. Frank J. Moorman, 31, of Covington was arrested for fourth-degree misdemeanor public indecency and physical control of a vehicle.
THEFT: A resident reported that two vehicles had been broken into on the 5300 block of County Road 25-A overnight between May 23-24. Some items were stolen.
