MIAMI COUNTY — At their meeting on Tuesday, the Miami County Commissioners approved improvements to county property and purchases.
The commissioners accepted a quote from Rieck Services and approved the replacement of the Engineer’s Office HVAC system.
The current split heating and air systems are failing to provide adequate heating and cooling and must be replaced. The cost of the project is not to exceed $31,792.
The commissioners also approved the purchase of 30 cameras and related equipment for the West Central Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility.
In addition to the cameras, the quote includes one digital recorder, four hard drive expansion kits, and 50 video connectors, as well as installation at a cost not to exceed $28,707.
The commissioners also confirmed the formation of the Miami County Emergency Management Agency as a department of the board of commissioners in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
“State auditors have started looking at this and they’ve found a lot of counties where they couldn’t find where it was established,” Commissioner’s Clerk Leigh Williams explained.
