PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
ACCIDENT WITH INJURY: There was a report of an accident in the area of Boone and Caldwell streets on May 13 at 8 a.m.
FOUND PROPERTY: There was a report of a child’s bicycle found leaning against a building on the 1000 black of W. Greene Street on May 13 at 8:30 a.m. It was taken into property.
THEFT: There was a report of a gray-colored, 2005 four-wheel drive Dodge Ram SLT Quad Cab stolen sometime between May 10-13 on the 8600 block of N. County Road 25-A. The vehicle also has a topper on the bed.
A complainant reported that a known person had stolen a knife and a stun gun from a residence on the 700 block of Elm Street on May 14 at 1:10 p.m. The suspect was reportedly located and arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to police reports.
The hood of a car was reported stolen on the 1000 block of S. Main Street sometime between May 14-15.
A gas can was reported stolen from a front porch on the 200 block of Buckeye Street on May 15 at 4:16 p.m.
A circular saw was reported stolen from a residence on the 300 block of Second Street. It was reported on May 15 and was taken sometime in the previous week or two.
Samantha R. Jackson, 32, of Elsmere, Ky. was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on May 14.
Donnie E. Applegate, 38, of Newport, Ky. was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on May 14.
Matthew T. Devault, 30, of Troy was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on May 15. The arrest was in connection with an incident that reportedly took place on April 4 on the 200 block of W. Water Street.
Makayla M. Fergerson, 18, of Troy was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on May 14. The arrest was in connection with an incident on May 5 at Walmart.
CITIZEN ASSIST: A resident reported that there are vehicles speeding on Brice Avenue. The resident also stated that the vehicles are running the stop sign. The complaint was made on May 13 at 6:35 p.m. The resident requested extra patrols.
SUSPICIOUS: A needle was found next to a trash can on the 400 block of South Street on 7 p.m. It was disposed of.
A van with an open door was found at the Paul Sherry Chrysler Dodge lot on the 8600 block of N. County Road 25-A on May 13 at 10:35 p.m.
An anonymous caller reported seeing a subject out at the Piqua Muffler Shop on the 1400 block of South Street on May 13 at 10:50 p.m. A subject was found there and stated he was looking at the vehicles that were for sale.
A resident reported that there have been two separate occasions where he believed someone had pulled on his rear sliding glass door on his home on the 1000 block of New Haven Road. The report was made on May 14 at 6:47 p.m.
A male subject was reportedly seen walking through a yard on the 800 block of Camp Street on May 15 at 4:30 a.m.
The back door of a vacant residence was found open on the 700 block of S. Downing Street on May 15 at 8:30 p.m. No one was found inside.
A complainant reported that a male subject approached her and asked her to buy him alcohol at the Spring Thru Drive Thru on the 200 block of Spring Street on May 15 at 9:23 p.m. The complainant stated that she refused. The male subject reportedly followed her into the business and “attempted to reach into her pockets,” according to police reports. The male subject left on a bicycle.
There was a report of a juveniles walking through a yard on the 1000 block of Park Avenue on May 15 at 9:48 p.m.
BURGLARY: A resident reported finding the front door of a home open on the 300 block of Commercial Street on May 15 at midnight. The residence was checked, and no one was found inside. The resident stated a few movies were possibly stolen.
There was a report of breaking and entering at High Styles Hair Designers the morning of May 15 on the 1700 block of W. High Street. A rock was reportedly thrown through the glass, and cash was stolen.
ACCIDENT: There was a report of a non-injury crash in the area of S. Roosevelt and Clark avenues on May 13 at 8 p.m. A driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
There was a report of a vehicle rolling out of a driveway and striking a parked vehicle on the 400 block of Harrison Street on May 13 at 10 p.m.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: A caller reported seeing a male subject, possibly intoxicated, urinating on the 1400 block of South Street on May 13 at 8:30 p.m. The subject was not located.
A reportedly intoxicated subject was walking and nearly falling over in the area of Wood and S. Main streets on May 16 at 2:28 a.m. An officer transported him home. He was advised to stay inside.
ASSAULT: A subject reported being assaulted on the 500 block of Garnsey Street on May 13 at 11:58 p.m.
A female subject reported being in hit in the face on the 200 block of Miami Street on May 14 at midnight. “She requested a report to document the incident. She did not want to pursue charges,” according to police reports.
There was a report of a disturbance at Z’s Food and Spirits on the 300 block of N. Wayne Street on May 14 at 2:15 a.m. Robert B. Rodeffer, 43, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident.
A female subject reported that her boyfriend pushed her and that afterward her chest hurt. She was transported by squad to the hospital to be evaluated. The incident was reported on the 400 block of W. High Street on May 15 at 4:14 a.m.
ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A resident reported that her cat was killed by a dog on the 500 block of Wilson Avenue on May 14 at 3:58 p.m. The reported owners of the dog were warned for dogs running at large.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A vehicle had been egged on the 100 block of Drexel Avenue and was reported on May 15 at 7:40 a.m.
A vehicle was egged overnight between May 14-15 on the 900 block of Cottage Avenue.
A vehicle was egged overnight between May 14-15 on the 800 block of Brook Street.
HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: There was a report of vehicle being struck overnight between May 14-15 on the 600 block of S. Wayne Street. The victim also reported that it could have been hit at Kroger’s or the American Legion.
WARRANT: Donald L. Julian, 32, of Piqua was picked up on a warrant for first-degree felony aggravated robbery on May 15. The warrant was from Miami County Common Pleas Court in connection with an armed robbery that reportedly took place at the Sunset Drive Thru in January. Jesse L. Guerra, 42, of Piqua is accused of robbing the clerk at the business at gunpoint, and his case is still in Miami County Common Pleas Court. Julian’s car was allegedly used in the incident, and evidence was reportedly recovered from Julian’s residence back in January. Julian is currently being held at the Miami County Jail. Guerra is also continuing to be held at the jail on $55,000 bond.
