‘Just Us’ concert set at PHS

PIQUA — The Piqua High School Show Choir, The Company will present its annual “Just Us” concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the Hartzell Center for the Performing Arts at PHS. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The show choir will present the current award-winning show, “Shut Up and Do It!” and numbers from past shows.

Senior members, Rachel Wiles, Kenzie Weller, Tanner McKinney, Taurean Collier, Wade Wenrick, Riley Branson, Tyler Lavy, TJ Iddings, Noah Magill and Jon Gerlach will be performing solos in Senior Spotlights.

This year, there will be a special dance presentation by “The Men’s Company,” who will be dancing to “Run Away Baby.”

The Company’s combo, Audio Hype will present two numbers from its repertoire.

The show choir is under the direction of Tom Westfall. Audio Hype is conducted by Mitch Mahaney.

Tickets for the “Just Us” concert will only be available at the door the night of the event. Ticket prices are $8 general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens.

• 8th Grade: Timothy Black, Tyler Ferraro, Ethan Heidenreich, Katelin Wintrow, Alissa Arnett, Kierstynn Hutson, Austin Pittman, Kayla Schulten, Ellie Jones

Meet the Candidates to be held

TROY — The forum to Meet the Candidates for 8th Congressional District will be held Thursday, May 19, at Troy Jr. High School, 556 North Adams Street. Doors open at 7 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and will last 60 minutes.

The event will feature candidates for the 8th Congressional District race in the

June 7 Special Election. The winner of this election will fill the unexpired term of John Boehner to the end of this year. Green Party candidate James J. Condit, Jr., Republican Candidate Warren Davidson, and Democratic Candidate Corey Foister have confirmed their intention to participate in the forum.

Written questions from the audience will be accepted and presented by the media panel including Joshua Byers of the Troy Daily News, Scott Hornberger of Troy Community Radio, and Matt Bayman of Candidates may make themselves available before or after the event for informal conversation. Tom Dunn will serve as moderator.
