PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
SUSPICIOUS: A front door was found open at a vacant residence on the 600 block of Second Street on April 23 at 3:13 p.m. The residence was searched and secured.
There were numerous calls in reference to possible gun shots in the area of S. Downing Street on April 24 at 1 a.m. A deputy stated he had been driving through the area at the time and had observed fireworks. The area was checked, and nothing suspicious was seen.
A caller reported seeing two subjects wearing dark clothing running through yards on the 1400 block of Brook Street on April 24 at 1:30 a.m. The area was checked, and the subjects were not found.
A resident at the Roosevelt Manor Apartments, located on the 500 block of S. Roosevelt, made three reports of a neighbor continually knocking on her door between April 23-25.
FOUND PROPERTY: A purse was found inside of McDonald’s on April 23. There were no identifying items in the purse. It was taken into police property.
TRESPASSING: A male reportedly came into Rue 21, located on the 1200 block of E. Ash Street, and harassed an employee on April 23 at 3:54 p.m.
Two males and one female were trespassed from Crazy Martin’s Gifts, located on the 400 block of N. Main Street, after a report of a disturbance there on April 23 at 4:38 p.m.
THEFT: There was a report of a black female stealing a bottle of alcohol from the Shell gas station on the 600 block of N. Main Street on April 23 at 4:30 p.m. The female left on foot.
A male reportedly left Walmart without paying for items on April 23 at 7:25 p.m. William L. Spradling, 42, of Sidney was cited for theft in connection with this incident.
There was a theft of money from a cash drawer reported at Waffle House, located on the 1200 block of E. Ash Street, on April 24 at 7:49 a.m.
A cell phone was reported stolen at the Miami Valley Centre Mall after the owner left it lying on a counter on April 24 at 3 p.m.
A wallet fell out of a customer’s pocket and someone else reportedly picked it up at Dunham’s Sports, located on the 900 block of E. Ash Street, on April 24 at 3:20 p.m.
DISTURBANCE: A male was reportedly struck by car and taken to the hospital by the squad on the 300 block of Ellerman Street on April 23 at 7:48 p.m.
There was a report of a male punching and pushing a victim before fleeing on the 1300 block of Covington Avenue on April 23 at 11:13 p.m. Edward Wheeler, 40, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with this incident.
There was a report of a physical disturbance on the 400 block of W. Ash Street on April 24 at 8:57 p.m. Michael A. Warner, 37, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with this incident.
There was a report of a disturbance on the 600 block of Miami Street on April 24 at 11 p.m. Subjects were warned for disorderly conduct.
ASSIST SQUAD: An officer assisted the squad with a reportedly intoxicated male who had fallen on the 500 block of South Street on April 23 at 9:20 p.m. The male was transported to the hospital.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of criminal damage on the 700 block of Young Street on April 24 at 3:16 p.m.
A complainant reported construction equipment at the Piqua High School had been damaged overnight between April-23-24.
