Wrens celebrate 50 years

TROY — James H. and Lavonne K. (Swank) Wren will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2015. They were married on June 19, 1965, at Greenville Creek United Church of Christ.

Jim is the son of the late Charles L. and Mary E. Wren of St. Paris and Lavonne is the daughter of the late Donald A. and Flossie L. Swank of Pleasant Hill.

Their daughter Kelly and her husband Gerard Viveiros live in Galatin, Tenn.

The couple met while working at Hobart Corporation starting in 1960. Jim retired in 2000 after 41 years in data communications. He was a member of the Hobart Quarter Century Club. Lavonne retired in 2000 after 38 years as MIS librarian.

They both enjoy working in the yard and their beautiful flowers. Thay are known as the couple who waves to everyone passing by their house.

They are big sports fans. They follow The Ohio State Buckeyes, Dayton Flyers, and the Cincinnati Reds. Jim enjoys bowling and golfing. They have met many nice people while attending Troy High School basketball and football games. They have watched many kids and then their kids and now their grandkids play ball. It is enjoyable and interesting to see what the kids do with their lives after high school.

Jim and Lavonne will be spending time at Kelly and Gerard’s new home in Galatin.
