• PUNT, PASS, KICK: Troy Football, Lincoln Community Center, and Troy-Miami County Public Library will host this free event at 10 a.m. at Ferguson Field. Includes instruction from Troy Varsity Football players on proper throwing, kicking, and punting mechanics. • SHARE A MEAL: Share-A-Meal will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market St., Troy. They will be serving macaroni bake, green beans, pie and beverages. Carry-outs will be available at 12:30 p.m., as quantities last. • BIKE SATURDAY: Events will kick off in Troy with the dedication of the Troy Mountain Bike Area and a “Fat Tire” adult relay race (registration is closed) at 12:30 p.m. at Paul G. Duke Park. The mountain bike trail features five courses and has more than 7 miles of trails in and around Duke Park. Officials and cyclists will then ride off to the dedication of a new bicycle station near the Miami Shores golf course. The bike station will serve as a meeting area and repair station for cyclists along the city’s bike path. Events for children, including a helmet giveaway and medical identification medallions, will be held at Treasure Island Park beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Troy Police Department will host a bike safety rodeo and skills program. Scout merit badge can be earned at this event.
• NIGHT AT RACES: St. Patrick Church has a new fundraiser, Night at the Races, starting at 5:30 p.m. with a meal provided by El Sombrero and will be served until 7 p.m. The Kentucky Derby will be shown right before our races begin. For an admission fee of $20, participants will enjoy a Mexican dinner, watch the derby and have a chance to bet on horseraces. There also will be a 50/50 drawing, a silent auction and more. Proceeds from this event will help St. Patrick Parish upgrade their sound system and upkeep at the parish center.
