• GUITAR CONCERT: A free classical guitar concert will be offered at 7:30 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, Troy. Brad Richter’s ability to defy the technical limits of his instrument has earned him comparisons to the likes of Franz Liszt and Nicolo Paganini by luminaries of the American classical music scene.

• KARATE: The Doug Yates Karate School will have a grand opening open house at its new location, 411 N. Main St., Piqua, from noon to 5 p.m. The event will include demonstrations.

• FISH FRY: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer an all-you-can-eat fish fry and smelt dinner with french fries, baked beans and applesauce for $9 beginning at 5 p.m.

• EGG HUNT: Fields of Grace Worship Center will offer its seventh annual community Easter egg hunt — with 25,000 eggs — at 1 p.m. at Covington Community Park. The event is free and open to children through age 11. The Easter bunny will be available for photos, and participants are asked to bring their own collection baskets. Prize baskets and bikes also will be awarded. Parking is available at Finfrock Construction and area streets, and transportation into the park will be available. • WRIGHT FLYER: Students ages 10-18 will be creating “Wright Flyer” with LEGOs and a variety of other materials, all provided, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bradford Public Library. These creations will be displayed throughout the month of April.

• QUARTER AUCTION: A quarter auction to support Todd and Niki Voskuhl, who will perform with Piqua’s Dancing with the Stars, will be at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, Piqua. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.

• EASTER BAZAAR: The Darke County Humane Society will host an Easter bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paw’s Bingo Hall, 848 Martin St., Greenville. The event will include craft items, baked goods, door prizes and a visit from the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• SPAGHETTI SUPPER: A spaghetti dinner, sponsored by the Franklin No. 14 F & AM Lodge, will be from 4 -7 p.m. at the Staunton Grange, North Market Street, Troy, next to the Troy Fire Station. The menus will include spaghetti with sauce (meat or meatless), salad item, garlic bread, cookie and drink. Tickets at the door are $6, and carry-outs will be available. Funds raised support Special Olympics at both state level and locally.

• EGG-VENTURE: An Egg-Venture, an indoor Easter adventure, will be offered at 11 a.m. for children birth to grade four at Christian Life Center North, 865 County Road 25-A, Piqua. • EGG HUNT: Families with children walking up to age 12 are invited to the largest Easter egg hunt in Miami County with more than 50,000 filled eggs, at 9:30 a.m.on the front lawn of Ginghamsburg Church, 5769 S. County Road 25-A, Tipp City. Come and experience the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, through a live drama. Kids also enjoy crafts, games, petting zoo with chicks, donkeys and bunnies as well as a visit from the Easter bunny and snacks, hot chocolate and much more. Registration begins at 9:30am the morning of the event with the first egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m. Each hunt zone is broken down into four different age groups: walking-age 2, age 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. • BACKPACKING: The Miami County Park District will host instructor Andy Niekamp at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 north of Covington as he teaches backpacking to beginners. Join him for a one-night, spring backpacking trip that includes six workshops on backpacking essentials. It is designed for those with little or no backpacking experience. The hike to camp is between 3-4 miles and hike back is 1-2 miles. Class size is limited to 15 with a minimum of six. Children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Backpacking gear is not included but rental gear is available. Program fee is $95 (includes Saturday dinner). Trip begins at 9 a.m. on April 8 and ends at 10 a.m. on April 9. • GARDENING 101: The Miami County Park District will hold a Gardening 101 program from 2-3:30 p.m. at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 East State Route 41, east of Troy. • CHICKEN AND PORK CHOP: The Lockington Volunteer Fire Department will be offering a barbecue chicken or pork chop dinner at the firehouse, 10363 Museum Trail, from 11 a.m. until they are sold out. Dinners will include a choice of barbecued chicken or pork chop, baked beans, applesauce, potato chips and a roll for just $8 each. • RESERVATIONS DUE: Reservations are due for the meeting of the Troy-Tipp Women’s Connection scheduled for April 19 at the Troy Country Club. The theme for the luncheon is “Once Upon A Child.” The feature is a fashion show presented by Angela White of Huber Heights. • EGG HUNT: The Miami County Recovery Council’s Women Alumni Group will host a free Easter egg hunt at 12:30 p.m. at the Drug Court Building, 1512 N. County Road 25-A, Troy. Lunch will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $5. Prizes awarded.
