WEBSTER — Three local teams advanced on to the D-II district golf tournament next week at Pipestone Golf Course in Miamisburg during the sectional tournament play Wednesday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course.
Versailles, Russia and Miami East finished 1-2-3 in the sectional tournament with Fort Loramie being the fourth team to advance.
The Lady Tigers won with a 393 total.
Maddie Covault led Versailles with a 90.
Other Lady Tiger scores were Lauren Heitkamp 100, Lauren Durham 100, Jorja Pothast 103 and Morgan Heitkamp 113.
Russia finished second with a 404 total.
Alicia George and Lizzie Adams led the Lady Raiders, with both shooting 98.
Maddie Borchers was another stroke back at 99, while Kara Barlage carded 109 and Ellie Fiessinger added a 121.
Miami East took third with a 407.
Megan Thompson led the Lady Vikings with a 100.
Other East scores included Kierra Fellers 101, Megan Pettit 101, Haley Howard 105 and Maggie Bergman 107.
Covington finished ninth with a 491 total.
Addison Metz led the Lady Buccs with a 119.
Other Covington scores were Kelsey McReynolds 120, Megan Alexander 125, Sydney Blanton 127 and Noelle Gast 144.
Fort Loramie’s Emily Knouff was medalist with a 75, while the four individuals advancing to district were Sarah Willis, Eaton, 79; Morgan Fultz, Ben Logan, 99; Haleigh Shaffer, Arcanum, 100; and Emily McLaughlin, Bellefontaine, 100.
On Tuesday, Two local teams and three individuals advanced to the Division II and Division III district tournament, which will be played Thursday at Weatherwax Golf Course.
In Division II, Miami East’s Kley Karadak will compete as an individual.
In Division III, Newton and Russia both advanced as team’s, while Covington’s Levi Winn and Lehman’s Tyler Lachat advanced as individuals.
The Piqua boys and girls golf teams will play in the Division I sectionals on Tuesday.
The girls will play at Kittyhawk Golf Course, while the boys will play at Reid Park North.
The top four teams and top four individuals not on qualifying teams will advance to the district tournament in both sectionals.
