DELPHOS — Versailles senior guard Kami McEldowney hit a scoring milestone in the Lady Tigers 82-23 romp over Delphos St. John’s in MAC action Thursday night.

Versailles, who plays at Miami East Saturday, improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in Midwest Athletic Conference play.

With 2:29 remaining in the game, McEldowney made a free throws to reach the 1,000-point scoring mark for her career.

McEldowney finished with 13 points to share Versailles scoring honors with Danielle Winner.

Both Caitlin McEldowney and Elizabeth Ording scored 12 points.

There was never much doubt in the outcome as Versailles led 14-6, 35-15 and 58-17 at the quarter breaks.

The Lady Tigers made 34 og 62 shots from the floor for 55 percent, including seven of 16 from 3-point range for 44 percent. Versailles converted seven of 11 free throws for 64 percent.

DSJ made just seven of 35 field goal attempts against the Tigers defense for 20 percent, including two of 16 from behind the arc for 13 percent. The Blue Jays made seven of nine free throws for 78 percent.

Versailles grabbed 14 offensive rebounds and won the battle of the boards 41-20, with Danielle Winner leading the way with nine rebounds.

Versailles turned it over just seven times to DSJ’s 20.

CASSTOWN — The Miami East girls basketball team cruised to an 80-21 win over Twin Valley South Thursday in CCC action.

Miami East, 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, led 31-10, 52—15 and 70-20 at the quarter breaks.

Bailey Miller and Maria Staton led Miami East with 15 points each, while Morgan Haney scored 11.

East will host Versailles Saturday in a non-conference matchup.

BRADFORD — The Bradford girls basketball lost the lead in the second quarter and went on to lose 44-32 to Bethel in CCC action Thursday night.

Skipp Miller had nine points for the Railroaders, while Emma Canan had eight points, four rebounds and one steal.

Bianca Keener had seven rebounds, Brooke Fair grabbed five and Chelsea Gill had five steals and four rebounds.

Bradford, 2-3 overall and 1-2 in CCC play, will host Newton Saturday.
