The Edison state women’s basketball team outscored Cedarville JVs 49-21 in the middle two quarters and cruised to an 81-58 victory Wednesday night to improve to 3-0 on the season.

After trailing 22-18 after one quarter, Edison led 43-35 at halftime and 67-43 after three quarters.

Lauren Monnin had a big game for the Lady Chargers.

She made nine of 15 shots from the floor, hit her only 3-point attempt and converted four of six free throws to score 23 points.

Riley Culver had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds — and added four steals and two assists.

Jessie Crowell was the third Chargers in double figures with 13 points, while Kayla Tullis and Kailani Broyles each scored seven.

Shania Taylor pulled down six rebounds off the bench, while Holly Frey grabbed five.

Kaylesha Broyles dished out four assists.

Edison hit 32 of 73 shots from the floor for 44 percent, including four of 13 from behind the arc for 31 percent.

The Chargers converted 15 of 23 free throws for 65 percent.

Edison won the battle of boards 45-33 and had 12 turnovers to Cedarville’s 23.

The Chargers will be back in action Saturday, hosting OSU-Mansfield at 1 p.m.
