The Piqua girls golf team bounced back from a 193-222 loss to Beavercreek Wednesday at Echo Hills with a strong showing Thursday, but came up just short against Tippecanoe and Wapakoneta.

Team scores were Tippecanoe 176, Wapakoneta 191, Piqua 199.

Kelsey Bachman led Piqua with a 46.

Other Lady Indian scores were Korren Evans 48, Adde Honeycutt 51, Skylar Sloan 54, Sophie Hilleary 55, and Madison Ordean 67.

Piqua travels to Turtle Creek Wednesday to play Franklin Monroe and hosts Northmont on Thursday at Echo Hills.

Lady Vikings

get home win

The Miami East girls golf team prepped for Saturday’s Miami East Invitational with a 224-256 win over Urbana Thursday at Lakeland Golf Course.

The Vikings were led by Paige Lawson with a 51.

Other scores were Emily Rowley 55, Marissa Kearns 56, Maci Krites 62, Annelise Logan 64, and Kearsten Kirby 68.

CELINA — The Versailles girls golf team defeated Fort Recovery 197-250 in MAC action Thursday at Mercer County Elks.

Lauren Durham led Versailles and was match medalist with 46.

Other Versailles scores were Morgan Barlage 50, Maddie Durham 50, Anna Groff 51, Jorja Pothast 53 and Taylor Martin 60.

Piqua drops

home match

The Piqua boys golf team showed improvement, but ran into a hot Graham team and lost 164-192 Thursday at Echo Hills in non-conference action.

Aaron Davis led Piqua with 41.

Other Indian scores were Kyler Kommer 49, Matt Herron 49, Decker Jackson 53 and Jackson Huelskamp 55.

Piqua JVs lost 192-223.

Piqua scores were Nick Wright 46, Evan Hicks 54, Christian Starrett 59 and Garret Strevell 64.

Newton tops

Roaders in CCC

WEBSTER — The Newton boys golf team defeated Bradford 173-222 in CCC action Thursday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course.

Chet Jamison and Garrett Peters led Newton with 41s.

Other Indian scores were Nate Zielinski 43, Drew Thiesing 48, Ryan Mollette 54 and Nash Lavy 56.

Bradford’s Hayden Dickerson was medalist with 39.

Other Railroader scores were Eric Sanders 57, Brayden Sanders 60, Maia Stump 66 and Jenn Wolf 75.
